Get LOUD for kids with hearing loss!
It’s that time of year again where we’ll be donning our loudest shirts for Loud Shirt Day on Friday, 16 October to raise awareness for The Shepherd Centre.
Our five-year-old son, Albion, was born with hearing loss. Thanks to early diagnosis, early intervention and the wonderful support of The Shepherd Centre, he’s thriving. As he gets ready to start school, he’s never been more confident. He loves sharing stories and jokes with family and friends, and will have a go at anything from craft and sport to magic and science.
We know how fortunate we are to receive such incredible support. Loud Shirt Day helps raise funds for services like audiology, speech therapy, early intervention and family support — giving children with hearing loss the support they need to connect, communicate and thrive.
Last year, with your support, we were proud to be the highest fundraisers for The Shepherd Centre. We’d love your help to do it again this year.
Albion’s Dadda, Neil, is also taking on a 80 km Bondi to Manly run to raise awareness of hearing loss. We’ll be cheering him on every step of the way.
You can join us by wearing a loud shirt on Friday 16 October, sharing our fundraiser or making a donation. Every bit of support helps children with hearing loss and their families.

Hearing loss is the most common condition diagnosed at birth in Australia and 1 in 300 children have permanent hearing loss by 5 years old. Half of these children receive no specialist support and are in danger of being left behind.
