Get LOUD for kids with hearing loss!
My daughter, Ava, was born with microtia & atresia (underdeveloped ears) and, as a result, has hearing loss. The Shepherd Centre has supported Ava and our family since she was 3 weeks old.
Loud Shirt Day is the day we raise funds and awareness for children with hearing loss. This is our chance to give back to the wonderful non-profit, The Shepherd Centre, and make sure that every child like Ava gets the support they need.
Hearing loss is the most common condition diagnosed at birth in Australia and 1 in 300 children have permanent hearing loss by 5 years old. Half of these children receive no specialist support and are in danger of being left behind.
