Get LOUD for kids with hearing loss!

Hearing loss is the most common condition diagnosed at birth in Australia and New Zealand - and by school age, 1 in 300 children will have permanent hearing loss. 

Sadly, half of these children receive no specialist support, but you can help change that.  

By getting LOUD and donating to Loud Shirt Day, you’ll be helping fund life-changing early intervention services that help kids learn to hear, speak and thrive.  

Your support brings opportunity, connection and a brighter future to children affected by hearing loss. 

Having experienced the support that services like Telethon Speech and Hearing (TSH) provide for early intervention first hand, it's something I am very passionate about. 

Our beautiful boy, Kuba, was born with profound bilateral hearing loss. Having no family history of hearing loss from birth, we were absolutely lost in a sea of unknowns. 

Thankfully we have had amazing support services from Perth Children's Hospital, TSH and School of Special Education Needs (Sensory) wrapped around us who have help us navigate this new world and provide Kuba the right early intervention tools and services.

Donations to help TSH reach more families who cannot afford these programs are encouraged if you are in a position to do so. However, educating yourself and others on ways to make this world more inclusive and accessible for those with hearing loss is just as important.
