Can:Do 4Kids

For more than 150 years, Can:Do 4Kids has been helping South Australian children to reach their full potential.

We provide specialist early intervention and support services for children who are deaf or hard of hearing, blind or have low vision, and those experiencing developmental challenges.

Your support for Loud Shirt Day will enable us to offer our Tiny Tots program to babies and toddlers with hearing loss, giving them the best possible start in life.

Delivered by our Listening and Spoken Language Specialists and supported by allied health professionals, Tiny Tots helps children develop the communication, listening and language skills they need to thrive. The program also provides a unique opportunity for families to connect with others who are on a similar journey and receive expert guidance from our therapists.

With your help, Can:Do 4Kids aims to raise $75,000 this Loud Shirt Day to ensure more babies and toddlers with hearing loss can access the specialist support they need during the most critical years of development.

Meet Mei and Max

Mei’s ten-year-old son, Max, has been receiving support from Can:Do 4Kids since he was a baby. Loud Shirt Day gives their family the opportunity to share their incredible journey and raise awareness for children with hearing loss.

"I first learned about Max's hearing loss in the hospital when he born. I was so worried when I received the news. No parent wants to find out there's something not right with their baby, so those first months were extremely challenging.

Luckily, I was introduced to Can:Do 4Kids. They were so supportive, so compassionate; I felt like I had a path forward and I knew who I'd be working with to help him on this journey."

With the support of Can:Do 4Kids’ services, including the Tiny Tots program, Max has thrived. Today, his speech and language development are on track with his peers, and his family is incredibly proud of everything he has achieved.
